If you want local eateries and independent shops then Stamford and Bourne are a stone’s throw away. And if city life is something you’re craving then head to Peterborough for more of a buzz.

Here are our top three things to do as a family in the Morton, Bourne area:
- Nene Valley Railway: who doesn’t love Thomas the Tank Engine? He’s right at home here so pack a picnic, jump in the car and drive 15 minutes to the UK’s leading international steam attraction.
- Peterborough Lido: pop a date on your calendar to visit here in the summer months. With three pools, a play area and café, it’s an ideal way for the whole family to cool off. Just a 17-minute drive by car.
- Burghley House and Garden of Surprises: just the name alone is enticing enough. There’s lots to do at Burghley House but the Garden of Surprises is magical. Roughly a 20-minute drive away.
